Right-wing radicals in the House are going to the mat to throw millions of people off their health insurance -- and we need to stop them.

In fact, just yesterday, the Republican-led U.S. House passed a budget that would defund Obamacare. They are threatening to shut down the federal government unless we enact their radical agenda before the Sept‌ember 30 budget deadline -- setting up a showdown that threatens our economy, our communities, and our lives.

I will always stand up and fight back for Hawaii values. That's why I am committed to never giving in to these reckless attacks on our local families -- but I need your help.

My campaign is facing a major FEC fundraising deadline, and I need to raise an additional $35,000 from grassroots supporters like you to hit our goals and keep standing strong in the Senate.

Will you chip in, and contribute $5, $10, or more to my campaign today?

The values that we share -- protecting and strengthening Social Security, ensuring that every family has access to quality, affordable health care, and growing our economy through clean energy investments -- are all under fire.

That's why I believe my job in the Senate is about a lot more than taking good votes. It's about leading the charge to protect our families, neighbors, and communities.

I'm proud to be a lead sponsor of the Harkin-Schatz Social Security bill. Social Security is the most successful anti-poverty program in our nation's history, and my bill will do the right thing for Hawaii families by protecting and strengthening the system for decades to come.

Will you contribute $5, $10, or more to my campaign today to help me keep fighting to strengthen Social Security in the U.S. Senate?

I'm also proud to stand up against these vicious attacks on Obamacare on the floor of Senate. Through Obamacare, 90,000 uninsured Hawaii residents will have access to health insurance starting next month. Nearly half a million people in Hawaii will no longer have to worry about being denied coverage for a pre-existing condition, or being kicked off their insurance by hitting a lifetime cap.

So much is at stake in Washington right now -- for Obamacare, for Social Security -- and that's why it's even more important to make a huge statement about our grassroots strength before the deadline.

Will you contribute $5, $10, or more today to help us reach our $35,000 fundraising goal by the end of September?

Mahalo for your tremendous support, and for helping me keep up the fight for the Hawaii values you and I hold dear in the U.S. Senate.

Brian Schatz
U.S. Senator
