BERLIN. During the traditional International Tourism Bureau (ITB) opening walk around the governing mayor of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit, met the cover model of the SPARTACUS International Gay Guide Davey Wavey. Whether "Wowi" already belonged to Davey Waveys big fan community before, is open to speculation.
As in the past years the SPARTACUS International Gay Guide was exhibited in the Pink Pavilion. For the third year running users and those interested could discover the gay world with help from this travel guide. The SPARTACUS app available for one year now – is the digital version of the guide for mobile devices. Shortly a completely revised and improved version 2.0 for iPhone will be available. The Android version follows in the course of this year.
Once again at this year's international tourism fair there was a clearly perceptible interest at the Pink Pavilion. The offer was bigger and more varied this year. Alongside the SPARTACUS “family” there were the US magazines The Advocat and OUT, the destinations Key West, Gran Canaria, Vienna and Prague, as well as the tour operator Dertour. Gay-lesbian travel was never bigger than in 2013!
The ITB with around 172,000 visitors and 10.644 exhibitors is the world leading tourism fair. Here the whole variety of the travel is presented: countries, organizers, reservation systems, hotels and all the others who would like to make the best weeks of the year even more pleasant for their customers. Since 2003 there have been different gay-lesbian travel offers available, but since 2010 Gay and Lesbian Travel is an official segment.
